Open Staff Positions
We are also look for people who would like to join our staff. We are seeking people for the following positions.
Security Chief
Experience in similar role, communication skills, responsible, leadership experience, must be able to work all 3 days of convention, needs to be 25+ years old. At con: will work with con chair and campus police to ensure that all convention rules are being followed. Not all requirements are necessary for position, but are ideal.
Forum Administrator
Knowledge of phpBB, able to work with ver 3.0 a plus (ver 2 okay), install mods and adjust the style to suit the MikomiCon site. Able to effectively communicate. Prior experience and lives around the So Cal area a plus.
Video Programing Head
Selects anime programming for the video rooms in advance and works with chairperson to acquire the rights for public display of licensed anime. At con duties are to oversee the video and film programming rooms. Experience working in a similar position at a convention/club preferred or can choose a diverse lineup of anime new and old.
Game Host
This person will be the host for he various games at MikomiCon including the Sumo game, Watermelon Eating Contest, Ninja Wall Challenge. Duties include checking setup, getting liability wavers from participants, and energize the audience. An ability to be entertaining a must and work independently. Co-Host a plus for banter. Prior experience a plus but not required.
