Official MikomiCon Photography

Consplayers will be returning as MikomiCon's official photographer! Rob says:

"Consplayers is made up of the two words: Convention Play, since we attend many conventions, taking photos of cosplayers. Consplayers is a site devoted to conventions and the cosplayers who attend them. We mainly take photos of the cosplayers and the events that involve them. It first went live in 2004. And we are expecting our 1 millionth gallery view near the Beginning of May.

I have been doing photography for more than 40 years, and its a great hobby. I started taking photos of people in costume back in 1991 at Star Trek related conventions, and we continued to attend them until 1998. Then there were starting to be fewer Star Trek conventions in our area so we didn?t attended anymore until 2003. Our first anime related convention was in 2003, and it turned out to be a lot of fun, and we?ve been attending conventions ever since. I use a Canon 1Ds Mark II. And am equiped with many different lenses.

We now average about 18 or more conventions a year. Many times we take our studio photobooth to take professional quality photos of cosplayers. We also hand out best costume award trophies at many cons during the cosplay contests, Great, and wonderfully crafted costumes need to be recognized."

To help kick off Mikomicon, Robert will set up his photo studio and will take any cosplayer's photo for free in private photo shoot.
